General Questions
Why should I pay to sign up?
You may view all of our course content free of charge. However, you must pay to sign up for an account in order to take quizzes and earn certificates.
How long will I have access to the website?
After payment, you will have full access to the website for an entire year. During that year, you may take as many courses and earn as many PDH credits as you need. You will still have access to your certificates of completion even after your one year is up.
Will I still have access to my certificates of completion even after my account expires?
Yes. You will always have access to your certificates of completion, even after your account expires. You may log in to view your certificates at any time, although you will only be able to take quizzes while your account is active (within one year of payment).
Course Questions
How do your quizzes work?
The number of questions on a quiz depends on the number of PDH credits for the course. Most quizzes have 20 questions, and generally the range is between 10 to 30 questions. If you score at least 70% on the quiz, then you pass and earn a certificate of completion. If you do not pass the quiz, you may continue to take the quiz until you do pass. The quizzes do not have a time limit.
How do I earn certificates of completion for courses?
First, find a course that you would like to take. Review the course content, and then take a quiz to assess your comprehension. If you pass the quiz then you will earn a certificate of completion for that course.
How do I access my certificates of completion?
You can find all of your certificates of completion within your Account page.
Why is so much of your course content located on MechaniCalc and Engineering Library?
We have a partnership with both MechaniCalc and Engineering Library. Both of these websites provide excellent engineering content. Through our partnership, we use their content as the basis of our courses, and we provide quizzes on this PDH Classroom website to allow you to earn certificates of completion for the courses.
Licensing Questions
Are these courses only for Professional Engineers?
No. Our courses are primarily focused on engineering topics, but our courses are also used by other professionals such as architects, land surveyors, licensed contractors, and construction supervisors.
Will credits that I earn with PDH Classroom be accepted by my state's licensing board?
Courses from PDH Classroom are accepted by all state licensing boards with the exception of Florida, Indiana, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, and North Carolina (we are currently working to become an approved continuing education provider in these states). If your state does not accept our courses for any reason, we will refund your payment. Please see our Refund Policy for more details.
What are my state's licensing board requirements for licensing renewal?
Every state has different requirements. Please view our State Requirements page for more details.
Are online courses accepted by state licensing boards?
Yes, online courses are accepted by all states that require continuing education. The state boards require that the student pass a quiz to complete the course, and that the results are kept on file by the course provider for a minimum number of years which varies by state. If your state does not accept our courses for any reason, we will refund your payment. Please see our Refund Policy for more details.
Do you report my results to my state licensing board?
No. When you renew your license, you will let your licensing board know that you completed courses with us. If you are audited, you will be asked to provide certificates of completion for the courses that you took. You can find all of your certificates of completion within your Account page.
I am licensed in multiple states -- can I use your certificates for license renewal in multiple states?
Yes. You may use our courses for license renewals in multiple states.
Record Keeping Questions
Do I need to send a record of my course completion to my state's licensing board?
These records will not generally be required when renewing your license. However, the state board may perform an audit in which they will likely request to see your certificates of course completion.
How do I prove that I completed a course with PDH Classroom?
A certificate of completion is all that you need to prove that you completed a course. You will earn a certificate of completion after successfully passing the quiz for that course.
How do I access my certificates of completion?
You can find all of your certificates of completion within your Account page.
How long does PDH Classroom maintain records of my course completions?
We will maintain a copy of any certificates that you acquire from us for a period of at least 7 years. Note that we do not have any plans of ever deleting records, but the most stringent state requirements dictate a period of 7 years. Even though PDH Classroom will maintain your records, you should also keep your own records.
Who is responsible for maintaining records of my courses?
The engineer is responsible for maintaining records of continuing education. You should print a copy of your completion certificate after passing a course.
Payment Questions
How does your billing work?
Rather than making you pay for every individual course, we charge a single, one-time fee of $149 that gives you full access to the site for an entire year. During that year, you may take as many courses and earn as many PDH credits as you need.
How do you handle my credit card information?
We use a secure, PCI-certified third party, Stripe, to handle all credit card transactions. Your credit card information is never stored on the PDH Classroom website.
What is your refund policy?
Our courses are accepted by all state licensing boards with the exception of Florida, Indiana, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, and North Carolina (we are currently working to become an approved continuing education provider in these states). If your state does not accept our courses for any reason, we will refund your payment. Please see our Refund Policy for more details.
Will I receive a receipt after payment?
Yes, a receipt of payment will be emailed to you after your purchase. You may also contact us if you need us to send it to you again.
